Another video editing software I have did not have near this much overhead or calculation poblem. I’ll keep my fingers crossed on that one and it would lower my review score if it happens. Well, I’ll go with a big recommendation today on the Buffalo burner. Then after quite a few years of service it finally just puked on me. There are no firmware updates on Buffalo Tech’s web site or anything I can find in their forums so I’m assuming I just got a lemon. Three strikes and you’re out Buffalo, returning it for an Amazon credit and will buy a different drive. But I generally create at least three shapshots during a fresh install:

Unfortunately, most reveiw the drive makers only package this software with their drives. Beware, I bought one of these two years ago and loved it. I have to unplug, plug, unplug, plug and wait for the computer to finally recognize it.
Made about 10 coasters though! I spent hours of time over multiple days, using multiple options but without successfully burning even one BluRay disk. On the upside, Buffalo Support was easy to talk with and suggested returning it.

In the photo posted, the top one is the older one and you can see they’re a little different. If there is a minor comment it is that it runs a eternal louder than my blu-ray player, expected I guess. Luckily that should be a fairly-rare use case so it isn’t that bad since I maybe only do this two or three times a year maybe for a PC refresh.
Anyways, besides my minor rant on the naming of “Windows 7 Backup and Restore” on a Windows 10 OS, I actually really like that application.
First extetnal door will not stay open. I preferred the double-layer for that computer because her C drive is using about 50G or more — don’t blame me since I didn’t partition it — since of course I could then get an entire restore setup on one disc, plus the repair disc, of course.
Finally decided BluRay is not really necessary.
I took a big chance ordering a no name brand but the specs looked great so I took the chance. But that is really nice since all burners I’ve had in the past made quite a bit of noise.
What an inconvenience and waste of time. Amazon Renewed Refurbished products with a warranty. I have also tried posting to their forum but after six hours and several attempts they still have not sent an activation email so I can post to the forum.

This would have been my third Buffalo drive, have always liked their quality. Windows with drivers and updates installed, with the computer renamed and registered; the previous snapshot plus licensed software — I use Office and Neroand while I like Nero mostly their licensing scheme really stinks; and then the previous snapshot with other apps that don’t require licensing such as printer software, dashcam software, etc.
